Spackman Cannula
(awaiting FDA approval)

No clamp screw to drop or lose
Good seal on cervix
Latex free and DEHP free
Quick and easy to insert and remove
Well rounded distal end for easy placement
Transverse holes at the distal end for dye distribution

General Information:

The traditional reusable Spackman Cannula is liked by clinicians but gives great difficulty to Sterile Services who have to try and clean a long narrow cannula with a closed end.

To combat concerns over cleanliness SUS have produced single use versions of the instrument by matching the geometry of a reusable for equivalent uterine manipulation capability, but improving the clamp action.

SUS provide two choices of Spackman Cannula dependant upon the users requirements:

S030 – Movable acorn Spackman Cannula

S029 – Fixed acorn Spackman Cannula
NHS Code: FSW 344

S030

/
S029

How to Use:

1  (S030 only) Sound uterus and set acorn to correct position, secure using screw

 2  Insert Cannula

3  Apply tenaculum/volsellum, pull clamp back

4  Pull clamp back without touching the lever (self-locking) to ensure good seal

5  To release tenaculum/volsellum, press lever to slide clamp to distal end
